Swing news

Thursday July 3rd - SWING IS ON! Thursday night swing will be at the Hibernian Hall at 375 Ontario St. For a mere $7 there will be a beginner lesson at 8:15 with Jason Fenton and then dancing to the tunes of DJ Sean from 9 - 11:30pm. We will also spend a little time this Thursday discussing future plans for Thursday Night Swing, so come and put in your inflation-adjusted 2c!

Sat 7/26... MusicFest at the Empire State Plaza, Rocky Velvet & Cowboy Junkies (not swing, but cool). 2:00-10:00. free.
Wed 7/30... Swing at the Empire State Plaza, Count Basie Orchestra & Royal Crown Review (very cool). 6:00-10:00. free.

East Coast

Beginner

Tuesday...

East Greenbush YMCA, East Coast & Lindy Hop, 6:00 (1 hr lesson). Instructor: Jason Fenton.

Albany Lorraine Michaels. 8:00. These lessons are generally more expensive and less attended by Fuzers.

Thursday...

Albany - Thursday Night Swing. July 3rd - Hibernian Hall, 375 Ontario St., Albany.

Friday...

Troy YMCA, East Coast & Lindy Hop, 6:30 (1 hr lesson), instructor: Jason Fenton.

Friday, Wednesday...

Lindy Hop

Many Fuzers learn Lindy Hop. It requires a little more expertise, so many try it after they have been dancing East Coast for awhile.
Beginner & Intermediate
Tuesday...

Latham Malt River. 7:15. (1 hr lesson + dancing). $2 + $3. Instructors will rotate and are members of the lindy community. www.albanychill.com

Hibernian Hall (recently moved from Skyline). 7:00 & 7:45 (:45 beginner & intermediate lessons + dancing). $10 lesson, $7 dance, $15 both. Instructor Evan MacDonald.
